EVERYONE HATES ETHEREUM GPU MINERS -- but why??

Everyone hates Ethereum GPU miners! Nvidia is literally making their new graphics cards not profitable to mine ETH with. Gamers hate GPU miners, and even ETH developers hate GPU miners profitability..

Gamers blame GPU crypto miners for supply chain issues with Nvidia. Nvidia is now locking Ethereum GPU miners out of profitable ETH hashrates with their new BIOS. Ethereum core developers no longer mine Ethereum, but they are big investors in Ethereum so they will make more money with proof of stake Ethereum 2.0 staking vs Ethereum proof of work mining, so they want to END Ethereum mining. ETH dev's will further reduce Ethereum mining profitability in the short-term by implementing EIP-1559 which basically every miner, everywhere, is not in favor of -- and EIP-1559 DOES NOT EVEN SOLVE THE HIGH ETH TRANSACTION FEES AND GAS FEES PROBLEMS. To put it simply, Ethereum mining is incredibly profitable, and everyone hates Ethereum miners, they're all also working to end Ethereum mining along with profitable ETH mining.

Dude tells gamers to stop crying while simultaneously crying about miners not being respected and cryptocurriencies abandoning proof of work. Can't make this shit up. 😂

The problem is crypto mining farms using bots to buy up all the graphics cards.
That is no longer a free market when they have an unfair advantage buying up all the graphics cards before the average person has a chance to order one.

Mining is totally wasteful and we are sick of paying gas fees to fund that waste.

Its not about hating the mining itself or the people that want to use the GPU´s to make a buck.
But miners completely devastate the market and drive up prices insanely high! (even used)
RTX 3060 TI´s are being sold for almost 900€! And that´s when they exist.

Honestly I agree and disagree about your "stop crying gamers, it's a free market" comment. I'm trying to buy a graphics card right now, and unless I'm willing to pay $2, 800 for the RTX 3090, I ain't getting one. You can't find graphics cards ANYWHERE. Scalpers are selling 3070's for $2, 000. It's bad out there dude. I know you already "got yours", but think of other people, not everyone has a massive hoard of graphics cards already lol. The reason I agree with you, is because I wanted to mine Ethereum with the card myself, so I totally feel you there.

I also want to game with it sometimes though. But the problem is that Miners don't just buy one card. They buy them in bulk, and they line them up one after another in these racks. So ya, obviously that fucks up the whole graphics card industry for everyone else. Up until people like you started buying so many graphics cards, normal gamers would buy 2-3 cards each, max, to put into SLI or whatever and have super fast rigs.

Now people like you have these racks with 12 graphics cards on each rack, ya I can totally see how that kind of hoarding created a supply problem.

I honestly do wish we could have a way to limit the amount of cards each person gets.

I don't care if you have 200 cards, as long as I can get one too. But I don't think you deserve so many cards if it is going to cost thousands of people there chance to ever even have one.

So ya, I think I'm glad GPU mining is dying. Praise Ethereum for bringing Proof of Stake soon. It's going to flood the market with cheat high powered GPUs, that's going to a glorious time. I'm going to create a gaming beast then.

I'm a gamer and I don't fault anyone who buys gear they actually need/use. In reality, most gamers are idiotic for not mining when they are not gaming...you can pay for that inflated gpu in a short period of time. If you really want to hate on someone it should be the scalpers in our midst...dregs of society.

How much hash rate does it take to solve a hash outright? I'm assuming it's not possible with a garage/basement full of equipment or even a facility/warehouse worth and everyone mines using only mining pools to share the earnings?

Thought I would share a story about NewEgg. Ordered a PC from them and didn't get it. I filed a claim but they denied it because the delivery driver provided a picture of the box in front of the house. The problem was, it wasn't my house. I called customer support over 10 times to get this resolved and they always refused to admit it was not my house even with pictures of me with my DL in front of my door. So, ya, that was an order back in Jan. I had to file a claim with my CC company to finally get it resolved. Anywho, just be careful out there guys.

scalpers blame the miners. gamers blame the miners. Nvidia blame the miners. Retailers blame the miners. Everyone else blame the miners. Most big GPU miners buy well in advance from a wholesaler. They buy directly from China via Alibaba. Not only do they order entire pallets of GPUs, some order GPUs well in advance by entire shipping containers. Who do you think gets priority in getting GPUs from the source? I blame Nvidia for their business practices in the first place. Why should anyone want a crippled GPU that could be hobbled for scientific equations as well? Or one that runs hash algorithms to break ransonware? One reason GPU miners are more efficient is because they are a superior technology to ASICs. Most of the ASIC processors are made in China from older fabrication methods that still use a lot more power. It is because there are so many of these ASICs in the miner that makes the ASIC miner higher in production but also uses more power by comparison. AMD or Nvidia could easily make ASICs or FPGAs using 7nm fabrication that would be far superior to Chinese fabbed miners in both performance and power consumption. I would like to see a future 5nm FPGA module from a big player like Intel that would be made into miners that could load any mining algorithm needed so that even older devices could be used for alt coins when the difficulty of the current coin leaders become unprofitable thus requiring faster miners. Such FPGA miners should have the flexibility of memory upgrades to accommodate larger DAGs. The goal should be to use less power and e-waste while producing revenue. Lets hope Intel comes to the rescue with their new GPUs so that miners won't have to use crippled GPUs or Chinese ASICs.

No worries, Elrond very soon will replace ETH...ETH will be history soon. In the day when EIP 1559 will happen, will have a big surprise from the new ETH replacement. Elrond!
