Origami Flip Top Box Tutorial - DIY - Paper Kawaii

Learn how to make a cool flip top origami box - similar to a cigarette box, you could store cards and other stuff like crayons, pocky or candy in this box ♥

This is a more advanced origami model, but with some patience, you should be able to do it! 💪

· 1 sheet of Square paper
(thickness: can be thin or thick)
· Glue (if you want)

→ Large size: (the blue + purple boxes)
29.7 x 29.7 cm (A3)
Finished size: 8 x 8 x 2.8 cm

→ Smaller Size: (the pink and patterned boxes)
20 x 20 cm
Finished size: 5.4 x 5.4 x 2 cm

The strawberry patterned on was 30 x 30 cm (ish)

I got this my first try, and I was a beginner. Here's a tip for all of you saying that " I can't do it, make it easier" LOOK AT THE FREAKING INTRO WHERE IT SAYS THE SCALE OF DIFFICULTY WHICH WAS FOUR, so if you know that this looks hard for god sake don't watch, don't make an excuse to hate on a perfectly fine video

Great box! Worked like a breeze. I found an easier way to do the lid. Because of the extra layers in the lid it doesn't stay closed. I use a 30 x 30 cm heavy art paper for all new practise pieces. This way you can crease really well with out the papaer falling apart. Once finished, you might have to secure the inner lid folds with glue to ensure they don't push open the box again. If I get time I'll put up the lid adjustments. A great challenging piece though! Thanks!

I did it on my first try, i watched almost all the video in 0.25 speed and i even skipped some small parts: i thought i would fail but it really worked :D!

I think this is an excellent tutorial for intermediate level origamists ready to challenge themselves and the pace is perfect. If this is too difficult for you, you feel frustrated, or think words would help, you need to practice more with less complicated projects. Try doing the menko w/Leyla Torres tutorial until you can make it on your own. Then this one will not be so difficult. This is not a good project for beginners.

A lot of people are saying this is too hard. I find it quite easy if you just follow all the instructions. You a can pause if you need time catching up. I also find it easier than origami books which I cannot complete a thing reading.
