very helpful, I understand the role of surfactant and surface tension now. but i do have one issue. around 13:56 you say that the intrapleural pressure becomes less negative. Boyles law states that when you increase the volume, you decrease the pressure, so the intrapleural pressure should become more negative to "suck" the air into the airway

Thank you so much for your detailed description of surface tension and the role surfactant plays. Very very helpful!

Thank you so much for the nice and clear description of the mechanic of respiration

pleural pressure gets MORE negative during inspiration. To become LESS negative means to become more POSITIVE. If pleural pressure became less negative during inspiration that would suck for the lungs (or not suck, depending on which way you look at it)

The transpulmonary pressure relationship has to be one of the most confusing things I've run into so far in physiology >___<

For those confused like me - the intrapleural pressure gets _more_ negative during inspiration!

This was of med school quality of detail. Thank you, our material went heavy on tensions, this was great review.

Hi there. Great video, makes everything super clear. Did you fix the neg pressure on inspiration part which Christine mentioned?

Hi this is a great video, the only thing I would suggest is to add labels to the diagram

fantastic! very helpful review of lung anatomy and mechanics!

...what you said originally was right. The pleural pressure becomes less negative during inspiration because the intrapleural space is decreasing in size as the lungs fill with air

Your videos are amazing and so very informative. I have filled out a survey too!  Please make more videos.

Is it true that surfactant helps to prevent pulmonary edema by reducing surface tension???

If yes then do tell me how....

Good video,  some tips: please speak a little faster, also don't take a lot of time to draw the pictures.

But in general the video is great! :)

Interpleural pressure becomes more negative during inspiration. This threw me off.
