From some as small as the size of your fist to some others as big as cars, the threat of collision at the speed of thousands of meters per second is real. This is why NASA sent a spacecraft to one of the closest asteroids to Earth on a mission to collect samples and predict the chances of collision. The samples returned in late 2023, and scientists have been shocked at the results their analysis has produced. In fact, experts are saying that life on Earth might have come from these asteroids.
