Edwards has seriously underrated takedown and striking Defense. Two things key when facing Chimaev.

As fighters they cannot acknowledge the Khamzat hype, as that undermines their positions. Khamzat has done everything right with generating hype and backing his mouth up by dominating the fights. He's fast tracking his way to a title shot and no fighter wants to see that while they are just sitting idle. I hope he wins as it will force more fighters to be more hungry and willing to fight.

I have Leon Edwards by decision. People are forgetting just how good Leon is because of all the chimaev hype, this is a guy who has fought the likes of usman and dos anjos who are greatly respected grapplers. Chimaev isn’t gonna be able to just push forward and easily take him down. I think it will be a bit similar to the shabazyan Brunson fight in the way of it being chimaev being pushed too soon but hey if chimaev wins then we have a serious threat to usman and adesanya.

Great video, cant wait to watch Part 2. There is no problem picking Edwards, it makes all the sense....but Chimaev is doing scary things in the ring, and trains with Gustaffason who knows what hes talking about, when he says Chimaev is the best he's trained with, we see what he can do in the octogon, submissions, knockouts, overwhelming ground and pound, bronze medal in Russian national wrestling, 2 gold medals in Swedish national wrestling? 1 punch knockout Chimaev IS going to win and be champion, it was the first 3 words he said after beating Phillips too.

It makes sense that Khamzat is the favorite, he's much bigger, a superior grappler, and always goes for the finish. Remember Leon’s split-decision win over Gunnar Nelson (March 2019)? Gunnar out-grappled Leon and had him mounted him the 3rd, and I recall he did it without much trouble. Still excited to see what happens, Leon knows what's on the line!
