The reason people bought them (which you don’t understand why) is they didn’t understand either. They had no idea what an NFT was, but missed out on the dogecoin millions they could have made overnight and weren’t about to miss the next wave of get rich quick.

They were the best investment of 2021. While everyone was buying at the top the NFT OGs were selling and wiping our hands clean. 💰

If you paper-handed and knew when to flip, it was possible to profit. But if “investment” is defined as a long-term holding that accrues value— you’re right that most NFTs depreciated.

Easiest way to know if an investment is worthless is if anyone with some pocket change can start one up, which explains why the market got completely flooded with stupid art worth stupid amounts of money. Because very high gains to very low production costs.The best part? completely unregulated

Most retail investors that fomo'd into stock hype lost a lot too. There are still projects in nfts that will be profitable. Do research and buy what you believe in if you are interested.

You don't need an NFT though for an "access pass", you could just sell a lifetime pass online and make it transferrable, it would literally be the same thing just without an unneccicary blockchain.

What is really depressing about the current crypto/NFT deflation is that the same persuasion strategies have been used for years to get people into multi-level marketing 'programs' and to keep them in, and it looks like thousands of people are still as susceptible as ever to those techniques.

It’s just like pump and dump .. a real artist doesn't work because of the price, but his intention is to create, and continue to create. I hope we can distinguish between artwork made with passion, from heart, and creativity. the prize will follow as a reward.
