Buchla / TipTop Audio 200 Series | Episode 01

I always dreamed of having a Buchla in my studio. Now Buchla & Tiptop Audio have teamed up to bring real Buchla 200 series modules to eurorack, kicking off with the 281T and 258T. I am really bad with remembering all those numbers, but it's a quad function generator and a dual oscillator and both are super affordable (if not sold out). They don't use bananas, it's all true eurorack. Obviously this series will grow as my collection will grow in the next months, or maybe years.

Thank you for this video. I’m so stoked about these coming out and anxiously waiting for mine to arrive. Your video was the first that I have come across that really gives a lot of “instruction” to the Buchla methods. I’m sure there are more out there, but it feels so mysterious most of the time. Make noise has taken the legacy of Don Buchla till now... Till now is the significant part here :D
These things sound amazing and they cost a fraction of DPO + Maths, and even if they do not do all that DOP + Maths do with a wavefolder and another tiptop/buchla module (that with attenueverters) could do a lot of things with a bit more HPs and less money.

Great video as usual you really explained this well! I’ve been having so much fun with mine already. I’ve had it for a couple days. I heard one person say wiggle IG is a good stand in for the source of uncertainty for now. I find I patch way more cables with these modules and I love it! Lastly thank you for showing that holding the trigger down holds the sustain! I didn’t realize that 😎👍

Just heard about these, probably a good thing that they’re unobtainable for me at the moment! The quad function looks like a Maths killer, or companion! Only thing it might be missing is a Both input for modulating attack and decay simultaneously.

These are amazing modules. They do however appear to be unobtainable anywhere. It would be wonderful if they become available again in the future (Tiptop Audio?)
