1:54 this one frame was chilling to me. Somehow just seeing opal as not some sort of misshapen, clay, hey Arnold looking creature really made the true horror of this film sink in. It already terrified me that people have actually had to go through this but seeing opal as a real, human looking person was just unnerving.

I love how they animated the mom at 8:30, it really gives it the sense of how terrifying she is to Claire. All the animations are so good!

9:48 During the mom's song, which I'm pretty sure was the dad trying to get away from the mom while she's in a drunk state but instead gets caught and attacked with the bottle, leading to the dad focusing on reshaping his face to look like what it used to before the bottle destroyed his face.

3:37 - 3:43 As someone who went through similar neglect growing up, 3:37 is the only clip that I feel accurately portrayed the malnutrition that Claire was suffering from, and also the messiness and garbage just felt real. My heart cried for her in that moment

How is it possible to make the dad's deformed face in that freeze frame near the end twice more horrifying than it already was? And those cold, dead eyes at 11:36 coupled with what they're singing about makes me almost physically ill.
