Need for Speed Unbound (stylised as NFS Unbound) is an upcoming 2022 racing video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It is the twenty-fifth instalment in the Need for Speed series, the first for Criterion since 2013's Rivals with Ghost Games and the first as a main developer since 2012's Most Wanted.

Unbound was revealed by EA on October 6, 2022, and developed by Criterion. The game features an art style that merges artistic elements like cel-shading and graffiti art with the more realistic art style of other Need for Speed games.[1][2] The map is based in a fictional city inspired by Chicago called Lakeshore City.[3] This game is set to be released on December 2, 2022, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S

Animated effects are nice but it could have been optional. I don't mind them but I'ld prefere realism in a game that looks this good.

Controversial opinion it seems but I think the realism paired with cartoon animations is genius. When things get too realistic the expectation is that it’d look like a movie, actual real world and it never will. Take a look at what happened to Lion King remake - almost no one liked the realism of something that’s basically not real! This is the way to go!

NFS UNBOUND is the best one so far since NFS MOST WANTED. Its really fun and good all in all! Absolutely love this game!

Criterion really left the Burnout Franchise behind to only do NFS it seems. I will most likely still get this game, But really wish these devs would do another Burnout game.

Times are changing and so will games and people too eventually. You either go with the current or sink to the bottom and get left behind. Games won't cater to us forever games are changing everyday. It's not that games are getting sucky, it's just that some of us are getting old and can't accept change. Why doesn't the younger gen find an issue with latest games but we older gens do? Because things were different back then. Personally I adapt very quick to the flow of things and petty things don't bother me at all. I have enjoyed all the games I play with nothing much to pick on or rant on about. Idk why everyone is becoming waaay too cynical these days. Everyone seems to be displeased about something every other minute and people aren't happy anymore. Social media and tech has really changed us for the worse. I just don't understand people who nitpick and have to take everything as "must be PERFECT FOR ME" Im glad I'm not like most people these days I'm just really happy with anything I get to play. Or maybe it's because I had nothing growing up and had nothing and no one to love. But now that I do have these things to love I'm just really appreciative of everything. Or maybe it's just because I'm a super softie uwu femboi idk. Sorry for the long rant I'm just kinda sad to see how people always find something to be pissy about. That's all I guess back to playing Unbound.

first nfs game i passed on due to those cartoon effect when driving. not an issue with cartoon cutscenes, cartoon characters etc but when they did it as a game mechanic that CANNOT BE TURNED OFF thats why it failed for me. this team probably could not get real smoke effects to work so they came up with this shortcut. Today, the price dropped on ps5 to $20 and still i hesitant to buy and watching videos like this to see if i can swallow those effects while driving. its still hard even for $20 not sure yet.

They have great graphics on the environment and the cars. And then they screw the game up with all the cartoon effects !!

NFS needs to go back to old arcade style racing. Does this game uses dualsense adaptive triggers and haptic feedback? Dirt 5 nailed it in using them and so did GT7
