I love how this movie makes Oliver smart enough to sneak into Mrs Bumble’s room to get the locket and food for the trip and then use Fagin’s rules against him in the climax. “Give me the locket or I peach.” I also like how the Artful Dodger is like an older brother to him.

Its hard to believe that history never changes, as one of the children given away and forgotten at birth
As like Oliver, I grew up without any sense of a parent (s) so I can emphasize with him !

It's a shame Disney plus won't upload this version because honestly it's the best one I've ever seen. Richard Dreyfuss was the perfect Fagin and Elijah Wood was the perfect Artful Dodger. Read the book when I was twelve. Saw the movie by David Lean, the best adaptation and truest to the book. However this one has Elijah Wood in it, and so it is my favorite.

If you're watching this because of an upcoming exam on Oliver Twist, go look for another movie. This version is so altered, it hardly resembles the original story. So far this is my least favorite.
