An audio selection from Michael Singer's "Untethered Soul at Work"

When in a meeting, are you really listening? Very often, we think we are, but we aren't. We're really just listening to the voice in our heads. And trying to stop your mind from talking never works—especially when you totally disagree with someone. So what to do? "Listening, like meditation, is a practice," reflects Michael A. Singer. In this episode, he shares the process.

About "The Untethered Soul at Work":

Michael A. Singer goes in-depth to address ten common workplace challenges, including: finding satisfaction and fulfillment, the art of conscious communication, inspired creativity and problem solving, and more. Here, he helps us apply the essential lessons from his acclaimed books in the everyday realities of work life.

Sounds True was founded in 1985 by Tami Simon with a clear mission: to disseminate spiritual wisdom. Since starting out as a project with one woman and her tape recorder, we have grown into a multimedia publishing company with more than 80 employees, a library of more than 1500 titles featuring some of the leading teachers and visionaries of our time, and an ever-expanding family of customers from across the world. In more than three decades of growth, change, and evolution, Sounds True has maintained its focus on its overriding purpose, as summed up in our Mission Statement.

Michael you changed my whole life experience. My fiancé died in April and the grief was consuming me… despite years of listening to Tolle and Brach it was you who showed me the way out of my mean mind and broken heart. Now I can hear what other great teachers are saying (it’s the same message- become awareness) but your lectures and book Living Untethered has made a lasting positive impact.
Thank you.

Sometimes, it saddens me that lessons as simple as this one are completely ignored by modern society, particularly in the more overpopulated cities of the US. Hopefully, videos such as these will positively influence our perspectives in the US over time.

I love Michael teachings it sounds for me so true. I start slowly discovering how we are not really present and how we think that the noise in our head is us and it isn’t

I’m willing to accept the moment in front of me “. This is one of my lifelong mantras thanks to Micky— and “I can handle this… let go … I can handle this “ ❤

They taught this in grade school, Stop. Look. Listen. And Learn. 💖🙏💖 Hopefully we, as adults, actually realize it...Before we die. 😆

This is fascinating. I wonder, when you are thinking of a past event, say a beautiful memory of the birth of your child, can you remain in the present moment fully aware. How does "memory" fit into being open, conscious?

I really struggle with people asking me a question, interrupting and putting it back to themselves and constantly dominating the conversation, its so common.
Its rare that a person really listens and just let's someone finish and validates what they have just heard .
I'm not perfect but I work at catching myself and try not to interupt and allow who ever im talking to feel heard and validated.

This message if heard by the right individuals would have averted the current war in Ukraine.

What if I was invited to a get together but all the ppl there I really can't stand. They are all very negative and judgmental. It's really brutal to be around these types. Do I go to learn and listen? Or do I say no! And never put myself in the energy of negativity?
