I just cant comprehend having this opinion about Dune... its beginning was so genius and the world-building was nigh perfect. The blending of sci-fi/fantasy terms and descriptions with speculative ecology pulled me in and hooked me immediately.

world building is so important though… like if you don’t know the context of the world the characters are in how are their actions and thoughts going to make sense if the world is nothing like ours?
