AOC CQ32G2SE Review - 32” Curved 1440p 165Hz Monitor - TechteamGB

AOC’s G2 line of monitors have been pretty outstanding in terms of their value, quality and gaming experience. Their 24G2U is still one of the most popular monitors on the market right now, and until the recent wave of stunning IPS displays came around, their 1440p VA monitors were a good compromise between price and performance. But this, the CQ32G2SE, doesn’t live up to that branding. For the £350-400 AOC are asking for this, I’m not sure if anyone should buy one. Let me explain why.

Reviews like this keep consumers from wasting their limited disposable income (if they have any during the pandemic) and are necessary because on paper this monitor does tick off a couple good options at it's price point. Thank you for another honest review that was both thorough and tolerable :)

I know this video is about a year old, but you are a life saver. I'm about to return a monitor because it's defective and I was looking at getting this one, but it seems like the ghosting is even worse than my current monitor which is already annoying enough.

I've always been a fan of AOC ever since I used one of their screens back in 2007 or 2008. It was a TV rather than a monitor but it was good at the time, budget-friendly and used for a console, PC and TV at the same time. Been recommending some of their monitors to friends over the last few years.

Excellent review!!!! Finally real tests compared to reading manufacturer specs only like some "reviewers" on youtube do. Congrats!

I can from a 75hz 27" to a AOC Q32G1WG4 (32" 144hz) - quiet an upgrade! IT's not as bright as I want and I do experience some ghosting in CS:GO - but I honestly don't think I'm good enough at FPS games, where an upgrade over this would matter... I am tempted to buy an ultrawide though ...

I bought this monitor after reading multiple reviews and videos. So hyped i booted it up and the ghosting and smearing is insane.. Yeah the colors and brightness are great and the image is nice but it is really unplayable when playing games like Elden Ring or any competitive shooters.. Im going back and returning it. Just wish i saw this video before i wasted my time =D Thnx for a great video

As an update to this review, the point made at the end that you could buy the Gigabyte G32QC for similar money but better performance, well not any more. This monitor goes for around £220 now, where as the Gigabyte G32QC is at least £100 more, which reframes the review imo. This is worth considering if you want a budget 32inch 1440p high refresh rate monitor and you don't play any competitive shooters where response time is important.

Thanks, @TechteamGB, you saved me from wasting money. This has to be one of the most daunting tasks to replace older 60hz 27" monitors.

Appreciate the review !! Had already purchased the monitor because I have last year's 1920x1080 model an its great for the money. Seems like they dropped the ball on this one. Canceled my order an went with the Samsung g5 instead

Thanks for your hard work and honest review. Too bad false claims on this one. What did you recommend again? The other monitors? The Acer and Gigabyte model numbers please. I would like to buy a curved 32in. What is the best VA in your opinion? True 1 ms G2G, at least 165 mhz etc. thanks

just saw your review on the CQ27G2 and it is fairly positive. Aren't they suppose to be using the same panel as this one? And on the CQ27G2U review for example it got an input lag of around 12ms and you said "it is a fairly decent result" whereas that CQ32G2SE which got 6ms and you said "it isn't fantastic". Don't get me wrong, I knew nothing about monitor reviews I'm just confused by the terms being used and just asking for clarification.
