PS5 real world buying attempts

Показать описание
Just wanted to share my recent attempts and lessons learned from trying to buy a PS5 online.
1). If you are really desperate, I have seen local Facebook Marketplace ads for $600, which is only $100 markup and maybe worth the avoided hassle
2). Sign up for Sony promotional e-mail notifications and hope you get the invite e-mail, which is highly unlikely to happen.
3). As of recently, I only considered Sony direct drops. While they do not occur as often as other retailers, the stock seems to last longer. Best method is to open as many different browsers on many machines. Sheer luck will get you an early spot in the queue.
4). Gamestop is my second choice as they have bundles at higher prices that discourage many buyers. However the stock lasts longer as a result.
5). I had decent luck with Target, getting through most of checkout until they locked out my account and never fixed it (to this day).
6). Best Buy also has a queue but is poorly managed. Local pickup means by the time you get to checkout, no store within 250 miles has it.
7). Walmart's website never works for me. They keep throwing captchas at me until stock sells out.
8). I have never seen stock at Amazon. Probably asleep when it happens.
0:00 Sony Website Queue
2:00 Sony Direct E-mail Invite
3:39 Gamestop
4:15 Target
5:07 Best Buy
5:45 Walmart and Amazon
6:57 Twitter Restock Notifications
7:29 Final Thoughts
