Jeremy Hunt has cut National Insurance by 2p as he laid out his plans for taxation and spending in the Spring Budget.

The chancellor also announced he would be scrapping the non-dom tax status, which was previously one of Labour's key promises.

Sir Keir Starmer branded the chancellor’s budget “the last desperate act of a party that has failed”.

I don't understand.
Isn't NI what covers our state pension, and NHS, and unemployment insurance?
So why is this being cut? Does that not cause a huge pension funding deficit for the future? and cutbacks to the NHS? and cuts to unemployment benefits??

Yes lets deprive our NHS and state pension fund even more. And they'll win votes with this because many will see "They cut tax, they good lol". Those same people will be surprised when they get slapped with a £5, 000 hospital bill once its privatised.

People really don't undertsand that we don't need to cut National Insurance! We need to cut Income Tax! National Insurance is a very important tax and them cutting it mean that down the line they can keep us poorer! It pays for the most important things from healthcare to pensions! He's pulled the wool over everyones eyes! Your wages aren't rising, your income tax isn't getting cut, but they can cut the most important tax of them all! They need ousting at the next General Election!

Its easy to cut national insurance by 2p after years of increasing the retirement age to qualify for state pension and knowing that not many people will actually reach the state pension age anyway in this crazy world

We need electoral reform, im tired of labour and the conservatives taking turns to mess up the country. We need new ideas and fresh blood. I'll most likely be voting for a party with a vision for the UK. Kier Starmer is not the answer, dude will say anything to win power. Although I believe we'll have a labour government by years end its more of a case that the Torries have dropped the ball as opposed to people being enthused with what labour are offering.

What truly gets to me about these Official government meetings is that the people in the government can't even act professionally and serious. Like they constantly interrupted during his speech and are unruly and unprofessional.

So if you come to this country you get treated better than people who have worked all thier lives as i have. I had 2 job's at 11yrs old and worked all of my life, I am now 67yrs old and can't claim a penny, i live alone and do not get any help with heating or any living costs
I am currently sitting my lounge with no heating and having to wear thermal underwear to try to keep warm
