When music made sense and didn’t involve killing sex or drugs.
Us Gen Xers clearly had great music

I need somebody to do a documentary on them and dialogue about how counter cultural they were in the freedom they had to express themselves in this manner through music, movement and fashion. I would love to know if they did this themselves or were pressured by some label to go with this look because it amazes me how what they look like was the direct opposite of the b-boys and girls dancing to their music. Fascinating stuff!

The era where the music was genuine, pioneering! Those magical and special moments that everyone felt when listening and dancing to these great songs from the first minute of the song to the last! Was an awesome connection between the music and the dancer where you felt free with the adrenaline in high thru to the top!!!🕺💃Soul Train jewel!!

I remember thinking back then...these guys are like a "new age" Temptations. Lol! vocally there are truly inspired by the Tempts.

I’m TODAY years old just learning what Planet Patrol looks like though I’ve listened to their music since the 80’s. No correction—I was stuck on the beat and JUST revisiting the lyrics in the quarantine as I’ve had some repressed memories surface. Music has played a huge role in helping me heal.

Why am I just seeing this!?!?! Soul Train truly was the ish!! Love how they easily embraced East Coast cats!! Hip Hop was from.and about the streets. No matter where you came from . And this proved it!! Love seeing this in 2024!! East coast/West coast beef would prolly not have happened if Soul Train was still on the air frfr!! They welcomed everybody as long as u had the jam!!
