Garden Flowers: Transplanting Your Chamomile & Shasta Daisies into Cups: They Grew! - MFG 2014

I showed you how to seed start Shasta Daisies and German Chamomile. The next step is to get them into larger transplant cups so they can continue their growth. It is a quick and simple process that should be done after 4-6 weeks of growth. You want to get them into their transplant cups before they get root bound in the starting cells.

Hi Gary - not sure if you're still answering questions for your videos, but I'm growing shasta daisies and german chamomile for the first time from seeds (indoors). After you transplant the seedlings from their peat cells into cups, when do you begin the hardening process? Do you start putting them outside immediately?

Thanks so much for your videos - it's incredibly helpful to get visuals on what these plants should look like after 4-6 weeks to compare against mine!!

I just started following you- your videos are so extremely helpful! I love that they are brief and packed with info. My biggest question when growing something new is how many seeds I should plant (seed packets don't often say if it's one flower per stem/plant or if one seed makes a bushy plant with lots of stems) and how close to each other. Thank you for explaining that!

Can you directly sow the seeds in the ground or a large container??? Also we here tend to have very hot long summers, and a short mild winter lasting from mid December to March...Shall I try planting chamomile or it just won't survive??? If yes when would it be best to start the seeds???

I like to use the clear plastic cups with holes in the bottom, so I can see the root system growing.

Dear Gary,
I started daisy seeds and they are doing great! However, I have noticed some of the leaves have a brown tip like an insect drop. I would like to know what can I do to prevent them from killing the plants. Thanks, Glaucia

Started Shasta seeds in a medium sized pot; now they are almost 3 in. tall!  Can I transplant them outside at this time; also, do I plant them in a bunch as they are now; unsure I can dislodge roots and get single plantings.  Any help is so appreciated!

Hi Do you have a video explaining how to transplant english lavender onto the ground? I started lavender indoors. I have them on 4" cups right now and they are ~8 inches tall. The thing is I have 2-3 lavender plants per cup. I am not sure If it's a good idea to separate each plant and transplant them separately on the ground or just transplant 2-3 together on the ground. What do you think? Thanks for the videos they are really good.

Dumb question, but just like when you started them in cell trays do you use pre moistened potting mix. I'm guessing yes?
I'm about 2 weeks away of transplanting my shasta Daisies into cups.
