As a 10-year Destiny veteran, it’s pretty obvious to me that this game isn’t marketed to me. I do not play mobile games, and I do not spend money on MTX. This is for a specific audience that does.

Mobile games with high end quality has been on the rise for the past decade. I know that a lot of “gamer” turn their nose up when one comes out but they are genuinely great. Specially when you aren’t a gambling addict and spent 0 dollars and get to play a brand new game completely free.

Im interested because for a couple of reasons. One its set in the golden age, something we have only gotten to read about. Two we getting supers and mythic weapons that we have never seen. Also we havent seen what the micros are like so it could be done in a good way. Plus mobile games have come along way and itll run good on my S24 Ultra.

Mobile games have honestly come a long way. I’m interested in seeing NetEase’s take on destiny gameplay and hopefully the micros aren’t outrageous

Netease could be on to a winner here. How much revenue Bungie get out of it comes down to that licensing deal. Im not sure I trust bungie when it comes to signing contracts though. I wouldnt be surprised to hear down the line that Bungie grabbed the 100mill in desperation and signed a less then optimal licenscing deal.

You make very valid points. This could actually help none mobile destiny in the long run.

There's 10 billion smart phones in the world. This game will easily eclipse expectations

even if deployed subpar

This might actually turn out to be a friendly competition and bring innovation if netease develops things for a mobile game version of destiny that destiny 2 doesn't actually have, and maybe it will drive them to actually create something new and unique for the main game.

I dont get why people keep saying it ismt marketed to them as a Destiny player. The game if very clearly made to be true to the Destiny shooting experience in addition to recognizable weapons that only fans would know.

Honestly this could work. Ive always wanted to play Destiny wherever i was. And well pulling out my steam deck in class is a no go. So this is the next best thing

I don't like mobile games but to those that do I can see this becoming popular with them

With it only being licensed out, wouldn't that mean net ease gets the first cut of the pay cheque, then PlayStation, and then Bungie ? Like what would be the order of who gets what money

I'm curious about it but very skeptical. I've come to terms with it catering to a newer generation

I plan on giving it a shot I suppose. I am not a huge fan of mobile gaming, but I could see it being pretty fun.

Honestly as someone who's played destiny since house of wolves I really don't see most destiny fans playing this game long term. This seems to be more targeted towards the massive mobile gaming audience in places like China and Korea

If destiny rising can give you that vibe you get on console it may have a chance.

As a non destiny fan, if this was aimed at non destiny fans, choosing mobile won't move my interest needle.

Perhaps if this does hit console or PC I may try but not until it happens.

a lot of good things Netease is doing with D:Rising, also a lot of stuff Destiny players have ased for for years. this pushes a lot of buttons and i think the good can outweigh the bad stuff. biggest question is can we play it with e.g. mumu on PC? if yes, this can be huge.
