I also share the birthday party decorations I picked up for two of the boy's birthdays. As a special bonus, I share my fun homeschool book haul for a local thrift store, too!

I love your passion for books! In our house we never met a book we didn't love. We have books, books and more books! I may even have some books to send your way once we get into moving storage units and paring down. Now that the girls are grown I know I have some things your bunch would love!

I came from a family of 8 kids, and I used to do the stockings for all of us (I'm the oldest girl). This brings back so many memories! I used to wrap each individual item to make it even more fun! I hear so many parents complain about buying stocking stuffers for their kids, like you said, referring to it as 'junk, ' but we loved that kind of stuff. In fact, my siblings say what they remember most were the stockings.

Nice! I have never heard of opening stockings on Christmas Eve. I spent too much on stockings this year 😬 but I love filling stockings. My sister and I still get a stocking from my parents lol 😂 and my sister and I always fill our parents’ stockings with goodies.

Dollar Tree and 99 Cent Store are my go to stores for stocking stuffers and party supplies..works out wonderfully for the younger set..as you get to the pre-teen or teen boys, it's just pens, and snacks/treats that can be found there..Still overall, a good deal of items can be checked off your list there. I too check the thrift stores for gently used books and also have found a few new crafting kits at the thrift store that made a great bonus gift..Looks like your kids have lots to look forward to😁

We have a warehouse book sale near us that is open every weekend. EVERYTHING is $1! You may have to dig and it’s hit or miss, but it’s huge and you can find amazing stuff there.💗

I was just thinking about Hatchet. I loved that book as a kid. Didn’t even think about other Gary Paulsen books. I’ll need to check out the library. :)

I remember when my siblings and I were younger, we were "allowed" to get up at 5am and open our stockings, as long as we didn't wake our parents. Then after breakfast & chores we could open our other gifts. God bless you buying for all your beautiful children. I only buy for 2 young adults now and that was challenging. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

I'm so glad you said the name of the thrift book store you go to. I was just telling my gf that we needed to try to find the book store you use bc you always get your books super cheap. Don’t mind the comments, it is your family and your Christmas. You work hard to give them a good and fun Christmas. I grew up in Brazil having a humble and many times no Christmas present for Christmas. I like to give my kids in the United States a big Christmas and I send money to my family so they can have a good Christmas too💕 we do what we can it is a fun time💕💕

My mom used to use a different wrapping paper for each person and she wouldn’t put tags on them. That way we didn’t know which ones were ours. 🎄
