Amelia Watson and Gawr Gura manage to work out a concept that has eluded humanity for centuries! It turns out it's just that easy! Maybe the government should have their scientists playing Minecraft as they work? Couldn't hurt lmao

🤠 You just gonna scroll by without s̶a̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ h̶o̶w̶d̶y̶ subbing to my channel? Daily HololiveEN clips if you sub right here, right now 🤠
(but if you say howdy in the comments, i'll say it back to you!)

Gura: "Is that just normal thought process for you?"

Ame: "Uh, yeah!"

Theoretically, yes. Time is relative. But it wouldn't be really time travelling since you don't really travel back in time but more that you can see the past through the giant telescope much like a giant tv

Gura: "Holy crap did you just figure out time travel?"

Ame, the time travelling detective: yeah"

I mean, time travel is kinda her day job, don't know why gura is freaked out that she knows how it works.

Ame: *speaks in Einstein's Theory of Relativity and figuring out how time travelling can be possible if we can travel at the speed of light and have an apparatus similar to a telescope*
Gura: *yes*

Kronii: *You know too much, gremlin. You're under arrest for crimes against the Sacred Timeline.*

Gura's brain has overloaded. Also, yeah, this will let you *look* back in time. Not go there though. It's less time travel and more just looking at old light still left in the universe.

In Space Battleship Yamato 2199, there's actually a scene that is based on that idea. Seeing Earth as it was x amounts of years ago equal to the number of light-years traveled. Really good show, if people haven't seen it.

So she's a time travelling detective, that has yet to create time travel, but due to that could theoretically have already created time travel because that would imply she created it and went back. So she could have already done it, but also not done it, thus being a time travelling detective that just figured out time travel. We're witnessing a monumental part in the backstory in the here and now.

I knew I liked Amelia for a reason.

When she says “without turning into spaghetti” she may be referring to a black hole, get to close to it and you will go through a process called “spaghetification” where your body gets pulled and stretched into the black hole

I mean... if you travel at the speed of light, you’re technically doing time travel, but only forwards due to some form of time dilation taking effect. I forgot where I read this, but if you traveled for 5 years in light speed, and then go back to earth, at least 75 years would have passed or something.

Thats some brain right there. There's actually a research similar to what Ame said, although it has more detail and calculations. I don't what the title of that research is, but I remember reading that research of Phd something in the data banks.

Poor Gura, she had to listen Watson's theory with her air head . Can't imagine how lost she might be . XD

Technically we are all time travelers.

It is just 1 way only, and very slow.

Ame brain:
"Let's say you are transported instantaneously to somewhere lightyears ago from here and we saw the earth with a really good telescope, we could se the earth as it was thousands of years ago...
We just gotta figure how to travel faster than the speed of light, without turning us into spaghetti..."
Gura brain:
"Guhh, thermo spaghetti "

Here's a cooler thing, since light curves and changes directions from gravity, it should be possible, with the right astronomical alignement of massive celestial bodies (although it hasn't been found) to bend light in a u shape, meaning you could see the same light the Earth reflected billions of years ago, in other words, you don't need to travel faster than light, just bend space the right way to see the past Earth from current Earth, the trick is to find a path between stuff with the right mass, at the right angle with no interference and that is less than 4.5 billion years old.
