1:55 I can dig the ball with my bicepts, with my shoulder *points at face* with all those different parts of my body. I dig spikes with my face all the time. I'm so happy one of my techniques finally gets mentioned in one of your videos!!

Maybe do a video on how to react faster to balls on defense?

Hey Donny,

good job on explaining passing here. I just have one point:

I'm sorry, but I don't agree with the angles when you are closer to the baseline (when the distance to the setter/other target is bigger). When you play with a flatter angle which you suggest, you often get the problem of passing low or not in the right angle and taking away setter options, giving your teammates less time to organize or pass over the net if you want to avoid passing low. The accuracy required to getting the ball perfectly on the setters head is way bigger than, if you just pass with a 45° angle or higher but push it with much more power. Because if you do that, the ball will fall in a steaper angle onto the setters head => giving him more options. The traveling time of the ball is greater => giving your teammates more time to organize. Even if your angle or distance is off => setter can still run underneath the ball and compensate in many different ways.

One problem I have with a lot of these is that you give your viewers different options of how to move but you don't really show them WHEN they're appropriate to use. You should also specify passing (in serve receive) from digging (in defense). Very rarely should you ever have to cross your feet to move to a ball in serve receive seeing as there's two other people 1-2 shuffle steps away from you. The only time I could see that movement being appropriate is pursuing a serve to a corner.

The other problem I see in this video is again showing how to take a ball outside midline but failing to accurately show a situation where its appropriate to take a ball outside midline. It is almost always possible/ preferable to shuffle and keep your hip and shoulder behind the ball so that WORST case scenario you overpass. The way you show here (6:30) is one step and then turning your chest AWAY from your team. While I agree that it is inevitable to take every ball in midline, I think your representation of passing outside midline is misleading.

Hey Coach Donny, I'm looking for a video to better explain what to do when you are receiving a ball that's too high for a bump but too low for a set. Personally I'd step to the side and do a off midline bump, but since they're still learning, they don't have that kind of reaction, so I was hoping you had another way that's more optimal for them (especially for girls)

Hey Coach great vid helps me a lot i can feel my passes get more consistant little by little . I was wondering if you could maybe make a video about a great diet or a list of things to eat or avoid if i want to maintain my weight or lose some and still be able to perform well in a game situation . I myself am a little bit fat and i think it would greatly improve my vertical jump if i lost around 5-10 kilos . Thanks in advance . Keep making these awesome videos :)

I have been watching your videos and I find them very helpful but I would like to see a video of how to drop step and play a ball that falls behind you with little time to react.

Donny, does one track the ball all the way to their platform with their eyes? I am struggling to nail down my passing, and I don't know if I should be looking at the ball differently. I notice that with most of your passes, you track the ball with your eyes, then in the last foot of ball movement you continue to look straight ahead, then look at the target. And in other passes it appears maybe that you look at the ball the entirety of its path. I think my problems are perhaps unrelated, but I was hoping you could comment on this issue.

Hi Coach, I was trying to find a video you did maybe about a year ago about receiving tough serves/passes. You talked about what a player needed to do such as absorbing the energy, deflecting the energy, etc. and how your form should look. Do you still have that one available?
