Blue Marble 2 : air and water

Here is episode 2 of the blue marble ! Same concept as the 1st, a big one marble path on my table in one take.
Let me introduce you to the tricks used in this project.

The trick at 0:23 caused the majority of the fails. It had to be exactly in the right position and it was moving because of the vibrations of the trick above.

The air canon with the balloon was a big challenge to make. The rubber band squeezes the balloon around the straw to release the air in a specific direction. Then the hardest part was to find how to stop the air and deliver it when I want. It was too difficult to put something like tape at the end of the straw because it was either too clingy or not enough.
The solution was to twist the balloon around the straw and block it in this position with a rope. In this position the air stays in the balloon until it untwists. I explain it because I think what exactly happened it's not easy to get when you see the video.

After this I built a timing catapult trick. I know I'm crazy because timing tricks are so unreliable, it was mostly based on luck but worked 80% of the time. It was so sensitive, just a little more dust or some hair on my table could make it fail so I had to clean it for almost every take.

Yep I used a fidget spinner again, I'm proud of this one, nice and almost never failed.

The big catapult was supposed to be a trick with fire (the plan was to build something with elements: fire, air and water). The marble was supposed to go up because of the explosion of a firecracker :p
But it was too risky, I know it can work (it worked 2 times) but with MASSIVE luck. It's impossible to predict how they'll explode. And it caused lots of others problems. The marble was burned and it wasn't rolling really well after that.
The shockwave can trigger other tricks and finally the debris from the explosions was falling all over the place and could block the marble at a later stage. It also burned the table and hurt my ears. So I gave up, but maybe you'll find this trick in a screenlink later ;)

About the water trick. Release the water was really easy, but it took me weeks to figure out what to do with it. You can't push something with it, not enough force ...
So I taped a folded paper and when the water touched it, it got wet and unfold because of the weight :D But the marble also touches the water and gets wet. After that you can see that it moves slowly.

So the final trick had to be VERY sensitive. Why do I always put the most sensitive trick at the end?

So this is it ! I hope you'll like it as much as the first blue marble !

I get so excited when I see Kaplamino in my subscription box. Wow. There were so many creative tricks packed into this video. I found the rubber bands especially satisfying, and I also loved the metal bar bounce. The blue magnet stick... Who am I kidding, this whole video is incredible. Time to watch a couple more times to see things I missed!

What a fantastic journey. It's like the blue marble is the protagonist and all the other marbles are the ones the hero helped and each one helped back along the way

Absolutely loved this! Reminds me of a pinball machine but it’s playing itself! The balloon deflating was genius. I don’t know how you come up with all these clever tricks, but you are amazing at it!

The little hop at 0:36 is definitely the best part

Every each marble, big or small has a role to each one of them… helping to achieve one goal! Brilliant!

My favourite bit ... 0:35 so clean. That little hop is so cute

I like how you use the same part of the structure once more with a little bit of modification. It really does spice up the run. Nicely done, once again!

1:15 I think It's your first time to use water-powered part, isn't it? Gotta be messy to clean things out after some failed runs

Another brilliant video from you, man. Amazing! I love the elegant simplicity of your tricks -- relatively easy to understand but still very very clever! Particular example -- the launch at 0:17 is a simple concept but still delightful in action! I suppose the downside to this kind of trick is that they're relatively easy to trigger and I can't imagine how many early triggers you had to deal with... I'm just getting frustrated thinking about it tbh
The double use trampoline was very neat, too! Far and away though some of the most satisfying tricks were in that series at 0:22 where the heavy magnetic marble helped the blue one out. The trick at 0:27 is absolutely brilliant!! Such a neat motion and soooo satisfying the way it's timed! Using the balloon was yet another stroke of genius! As for the timed catapult... well we've learned to expect that from you ;)
Nifty use of water, too! I agree that thinking of how to use the water was probably the tough part, and your idea for it was as good as any :)

Holy cow…just discovered you and this amazing feat of engineering…thank you for the time and effort it has taken solely for our enjoyment. I teach at my local trade school, (Hydro elevators) and the cause and effect principles in here will be great fodder for my class. Thank you….

Found this while anonymously doomscrolling Reddit. Half expected the ending to have ピタゴラスイッチ on it.

Really love that you made the blue marble a character rather than a lot of Rube Goldberg machines where the first projectile is left embedded in the wall, so to speak.

I can only pray, with this kind of knowledge to ' mastering of the marble'' is used to project his unending projects and notify Microsoft, apply for schooling in architect etc. You are definitely before your time. Bravo ツ

The decoration for this Rube Goldberg Machine is great!
