The Volkswagen Jetta Mk5 (A5) has been brought to BeamNG in this new mod by FastLane! We're kicking off 2024 by driving this sedan variant of the VW Golf and testing all of its variants including the 2.5L 5 cylinder and the GLI config to find out if its a Golf beater!

So, my dad owned a Passat B6 SW until last year, for 13 years, when he traded it for a brand new Tiguan. I also own a Bora, in silver, 1.9 TDI. What a brilliant car. Actually, here in Italy, Volkswagen first marketed the Jetta (form the initial version) and the Derby, a Polo, with a boot and 2 doors, so pretty much a coupé. Then, in 1999, Volkswagen marketed the Bora, so the Jetta MK4 for the rest of the world. Then, there was the Jetta, like the mod you reviewed, it wasn't named Bora like in Mexico, it was just named Jetta. Someone in my Village has one, and it's a pretty rare car to find. VW marketed it until the 6th gen, it was the last one we had, probably due to poor sales. Finding one ain't big deal, but they're still surprising to find. Seeing that Jetta's interior made me think of my dad'Passat, ahhhh memories....

Nice review! Always had a sweet spot for this generation of VWs, and I'd for sure choose the Jetta over the Golf, as I prefer sedans over hatchbacks.

The Fastlane mods are all excellent, love his Saab mod.

Sadly, 2 of them have this weird squealing sound while driving, the Suzuki Swift has it if I remember correctly.
And the MG ZS has a buggy seat.

A new Jetta is quite a rare sight in Germany as well, they mostly sell them as Corolla adversaries in the US. They are also quite popular in Brazil, where the Polo was sold as the Gol (no joke).

If you suffer from Wheelspin while turning, you need to swap out the differentials, which I bet are open.

What a way to start 2024 witha very nice mod, cool to see a good quality jetta mod in beamng, would love to see some more vw mods like the passat especially with the w8 variant, and phaeton with the w12 variant i believe. Maybe we will get them this year, fingers crossed

My first ever car, RIP. Body shop scrapped it because they didn’t wanna fool with it when I had to get the bumper replaced. Got a 2015 CC now, always love VW

Amazing video ❤. The Jetta isn't sold in Europe due to the fact we have the jetta, jusr with a škoda badge, called the škoda octavia. The instruments of the GLI are exactly the ones from the octavias 2008 faszlift.

In Germany, it's called:
MK1/MK2 -Jetta
MK3 - Vento
MK4 - Bora
MK5/MK6 - Jetta
MK7 is only for the us market
