Not everyone can afford Apple Airpods. But the SoundPeats Air3 Deluxe earbuds are a great alternative if you're looking to save money! In this video I'll take you through the features and functionality of the Air3 Deluxe to help you decide if they're right for you. Like a lot of Bluetooth earbuds on the market, they're packaged in minimalistic charging case with a control button on the front and a USB-C charging port on the bottom. It's definitely a great size for slipping into a pocket or purse.
I think they purposely designed the Air3 Deluxe to look very similar to the design of 2nd generation Apple AirPods! And if you get them in white, they're really going look like AirPods from a distance! On the earbuds themselves, there's a multi-function button on the SoundPeats logo. These are actually touch sensitive buttons which can be good or bad because of how sensitive they are.
When the Air3 Deluxe are brand new, connecting them to my iPhone or other phone is easy. First open the case. Then go to the Bluetooth settings. In a couple of seconds, the SoundPeats Air3 Deluxe will appear at the bottom of the list. To pair the earbuds, just tap on the name and they're connected! At this point, if I need to connect them to another phone, I can manually enter pairing mode by opening the charging case while the earbuds are inside. Now press and hold the front button for 3 seconds until the LED blinks. This tells me they're in pairing mode. Then in the Bluetooth settings on another phone, tap on Pair New Device and finish connecting.
Normally I'd use these in stereo mode but I can also just use one earbud at a time. I often do that when I'm to listening to music but still want to be able to hear and talk to people around me. The Air3 Deluxe earbuds will run up to 5 hours on a single charge. But with the addition of the charging case, I can get up to 22 hours of use. The SoundPeats Air3 Deluxe also features noise cancelling for better quality phone calls. Plus two built-in microphones per earbud. They also have in-ear detection which will automatically pause your music or media when you take the earbuds out of your ear.
As far as sound quality goes, I think the Air3 Deluxe sound smooth and not bass heavy with a great midrange mix for a satisfying sound. If you're looking for booming bass, that's not something you're going to find with these. However, with the SoundPeats app you can adjust settings to get the sound you like. On the Home screen, it shows me the amount of charge in each earbud. To get to the main controls, tap on the bottom left button. In the Preset menu, I can easily adjust the sound using EQ parameters built into the app. All the popular settings are there. But for more control, there's a custom equalizer where I can manually adjust the different sound frequencies to dial in the sound that's good for me!
If you ever have connection issues or if only one earbud is working, here's how to do a reset. Place both earbuds back into the charging case. Then with the lid open, press and hold the front button and the LED will blink several times and then stop. But keep holding the button for a total of 10 seconds until it blinks 2 more times. It feels like a long time but just a bit longer and I'll see the 2 blinks. Now the reset is complete and I can start to pair the earbuds to another phone or computer. They can also be reset from the app if you're having any additional problems.
