From Barrel to Breaks: DIY Pool Cue and Table Tennis Rack
Показать описание
Welcome to our latest YouTube DIY project! In this video, we're thrilled to present our custom creation: an upcycled Pool Cue and Table Tennis Rack crafted from four beautiful oak barrel staves.
This unique and functional rack boasts a remarkable design that can hold not just one, but three pool cues, ensuring you and your friends are always ready for an epic pool battle. Additionally, we've included a dedicated slot for a bridge cue, ensuring you can execute those tough shots with ease.
But wait, there's more! The ingenuity of this rack doesn't end with pool cues alone. It's also equipped to hold two billiard ball racks. This was made from a down and a piece of flat oak that was cut out into a rounded triangular shape that perfectly matches the contour of the ball racks. A router was used to soften the edges of this piece.
That's not all – we've taken this project a step further by incorporating a fantastic table tennis feature. We use a Joola table tennis conversion top on our billiards (pool) table to make it a multi-functional surface. I drilled the lower barrel stave to hold four table tennis paddles, perfect for those spontaneous ping pong matches with friends and family. And with eight table tennis balls securely nestled within the design, fun times are always just a rally away.
I re-used an old cue stick rack that perfectly holds the table tennis balls (this piece was the lower portion of the original rack). The upper piece (which is now mounted just a couple inches below the other piece) is used as a mini-shelf for cue stick tip replacements and chalk.
Check out our step-by-step build tutorial on Fabville to learn how we transformed oak barrel staves into this impressive, practical, and visually appealing Pool Cue and Table Tennis Rack.
Continuing the rustic cabin vibe, the piece was topped off with a metal sign that was plasma cut by Leavenworth Metal Company. It features a bear with Lake Wenatchee and Dirty Face Mountain.
