Spoilers obviously, but sometimes character names can reveal more about the story. I'm not sure if anyone knows this but Mariam's name means 'star of the sea'. It seems not coincidental that this song describes Layan or the singer being entranced by the 'mermaid' she had thought came out from the sea, but 'mermaids' or sirens as they are also known, have in myth ended up leading sailors to their own doom with their song. Layan went out to that place with her boyfriend even after Rania's warning that 'somebody' (Mariam) was probably going to plot something and get her caught. She ended up dead for it because Mariam texted her brother the location. Like the sailor following the siren song, Layan couldn't help but leave school and fell into Mariam's plot to destroy her.

Layan: prosperous life, soft, gentle (she was very soft and gentle with Noaf after what happened to her, ends up not having a prosperous life)
Rania: she is singing; queen (the queen part really feels like Rania's character as she is harsh but also commanding on the soccer team, she loves to sing too. The queen piece in chess is also one of the last pieces standing generally, in a game)
Ruqqaya: one who ascends (she ended up falling from grace)
Dina: Avenged. Judged and vindicated. (she played a part in Mariam wanting to get back at the trio, is on whatever side that is least bad in her eyes)
Noaf: Highest point of the mountain/ mountain peak (Noaf wanted to be above it and do the right thing)

I don't speak arabic fluently, but these subtitles seem a bit off? I.e. "Hobek" means your love and not "your charm", and "we ya 3aini" means oh my eyes and not "oh my! oh my!", right?
