The police force has been mutating. It's all bad.

Implicit bias training is snake oil. Implicit bias training seems to create more division.

I love how training police is done by people who aren't there in the trenches arresting folks in the bandos. If this was applied science other than labcoat knowledge then it might work

The problem is that this is not implicit bias. This is intentional, premeditated discrimination. Implicit bias is an unconscious reaction to certain types of people. The majority of bad police/citizen interactions are based on the intentional decision to treat certain people poorly. Not only do you see it based on race, ethnicity, and nation of origin, you see based on gender, social and economic status. In most cases these officers don't act the way they do because of some unconscious stereotype, they do it because they are bullies who know how to select vulnerable targets. As long as we continue to give these thugs a get out of jail card called training deficiencies, they will continue to abuse the rights of the oppressed.

Seems to me the real problem is the community. Cooperating with the police is your responsibility.

Seems that police react to the action of the person they are dealing with. If you are civil, they are civil to you.
