Voodoo Lily Blooming Time Lapse

HUGE Dracunculus Vulgaris opening, closing, then opening again. Filmed at 1 frame per half second and sped up 32x. When these flowers open, they stay open. (this one closes with the magic of Photoshop) Voodoo lilies are pollinated by flies and beetles, with an odor that resembles rotting flesh. The odor lasts a day and the flower and entire plant will die back into the bulb over the next couple days. (as a seed cob is produced at the base of the flower)
The $1 bill is for scale... This is my biggest voodoo lily to date.
