But dressing a baby bump provides an added challenge, and we have to look at the women who have pulled it off in the public eye with style and grace. Did you know the royals have loads of extra rules around pregnancy dressing? For example, it is the royal dress code to wear closed-toed shoes, and the rule applies no matter how swollen a pregnant royal’s feet get. Yikes!

Kate Middleton made the choice to go bold when she's expecting, going with bright coats and some leopard print. Meanwhile, Meghan Markle drew attention to her growing belly with high-waist silhouettes and striking leg slits. Did they take a tip from Princess Diana, who decided to flaunt polka dots and open-toed sandals at the polo while pregnant with Prince William? Who knows but all these women are spectacular. These Queens, Princesses and Duchesses rock all their maternity outfits despite these challenges and give a sense of responsibility to be gorgeous to ourselves too. I think is irrational to expect the Duchesses to wear heels when pregnant. It uncomfortable enough at certain times. Even though heels have been around since 1500(but started with men wearing them) I would imagine Queen Elizabeth 2 set the real standard. Not sure how active the Queen Mother was.... but think QE2 is the most active so her feet have got to hurt during her prime.
