I missed this one some months ago. Don’t know how as I always look for your videos. I’ll be tying and fishing this one when the ice melts. Thanks for the video, Martyn 👍

Fantastic fly!!! I've seen a lot of mop flies lately but, this is the first one that makes me want to tie some myself. I bet this'll be a bluegill slayer

Freakin A Martyn that's a awesome mop fly! The profile really changes after you singed it. Hook up it looked like a Chia pet. Al Beatty featured the mop fly in an article I read in Fly Tyer. Then tightline had it in a video, more recently I think as a egg suckin leach thing. Yours is the coolest I've seen. I grabbed a mop from my better halfs cleaning supplies. Then some from the dollar store. I only have the pink like yours and a blue and a chartreuse. Beatty said he bought out the store and found some brown colors. They even make dog toys from the stuff! Very tough stuff. They're not all the same quality though, I don't think it makes a difference. Hey I thought that senyo wiggle dub was blended with fibers as a binder? Maybe not. It looks amazing though, really glows. I was hesitant in buying that dubbing but not anymore. I bet it would make a good blood worm cluster for ice fishing. Speaking of which I will tye your fly but not fish it until the spring. Major storm here NE US and here in NY State it's 18° F with 0° wind chill. So thanks Martyn, another awesome pattern. Cheers! 👍
PS you really inspire me to tye hundreds of variants of your patterns and using materials in different ways. Thanks!

Could you tell the specific brand and product name for your mop materials? Usually actual mop fingers from a wash mitt or mop slippers are not long enough. Thanks a lot.

Cool this is so unique! You could get hundreds from a single section of mop. It's kinda like the carp blob but crazier!I like it. What season would this be most effective? Cheers for sharing this.

"tail/body: microfiber mop bristle" from an actual mop? Never saw mops in the USA so light and fragile.
Different terminology?
