Awesome video. I'm on the east side and our power has been out for hours. Lots of downed trees, and power poles. This storm did a lot of damage all over town.

I’m British, and as a kid I had this weather book that had a few photos of lightning strikes above Phoenix during their monsoon season - I remember being absolutely mesmerised by them. Something about desert thunderstorms intrigues me.

I’m 28 now and would still love to experience an Arizona/New Mexico monsoon.

Never could understand why they call it a microburst. There's nothing micro about it. It should be massive burst!!!!

We were oit running errands this morning and the damage in the area is unbelievable! They are using huge cranes to try and lift these huge trees that were downed. Trees on homes, vehicles, apartments....

I was in the middle somewhere in there. Pretty cool! Some big hail fell. The worst part was trying to get anywhere after the storm as 90% of the drivers on the road didn’t know that a flashing red traffic light or non working traffic light should be treated like a stop sign. I saw one accident and many near misses 🤦🏻‍♀️

I lived in Tucson during the late 90s when I was at the U of A and the monsoon rains during the Summer/Fall were nothing short of spectacular, this coming from a kid from Southern California that had never experienced this type of weather before. I kind of miss it.
