I appreciate Lee Pace's acting in this scene considering his character was about to exact his revenge and win a war and then in the middle of his triumph an Earthling starts to convulse his body set to music. He is so confused by Quill's reaction that he's genuinely caught off guard by it, to the point of actually being nervous to ask what's going on as if it's some kind of 200 IQ advanced trick and not a spur-of-the-moment non-sequitor distraction.

The fact that “Peter take my hand” still haunted him with regret as an adult and made him go numb with pain is such great writing

This is one of the few moments where "The power of friendship" feels totally justified. Because every part has been properly explained. The strength of the infinity stone. The fact that you can share the burden between multiple people. Peter's heirtage. It doesn't feel like an asspull, because it all makes sense.

Straight up and down, this is the MCU movie that most deserved at least a nomination for the Best Picture Oscar. It was unique, original, subversive, and perfectly executed in every way, and it’s a crime that it was overlooked

I just adore how Ronan has spent the entire movie absolutely devouring the scenery and hamming it put to the Nth degree, but when Peter starts dancing and singing all he can muster is such a small "what are you doing?"

1:05 i like this part the most. He went straight to grabbing the stone, no hesitation, and he's farther than ronan but still managed to grab. He didn't know he would survive, all he knew is that ronan shouldn't have it

Despite being the some of the most comical movies marvel has to offer, Guardians of the Galaxy knew when to be completely serious, unlike a lot of new MCU movies which aren’t even comedies.

That line in of itself was a hint to Peter being essentially half celestial. No wonder he handled the stone and survived alongside the rest of his team. I wonder what Ego would have thought of his son actually physically grabbing a stone of that power and surviving without even knowing about his heritage.

1:21 is the scene that gets me….knowing that you made a mistake because of the immense pain but still not letting go and fighting through it no matter what….definitely a wonderful scene and the complete movie is a vibe in itself…guradians rock
