In my opinion, I think you should keep the cube. As you said in the video, clamshells are pretty common and they made many of them and I don’t see the point of having a bunch of functionality similar models. I think you should keep the cube as it’s very special as is and you could probably get those desired clamshells any other way.

eyy thanks for the mention. as much as I would love to give away my life savings for you to sell this gorgeous cube, you definitely should hold onto it since they're only going to go up in value, and clamshells are way easier to find!

I can tell you why I bought mine (a 500Hhz BTO) back in 2000: No fan. I have always hated fans. Plus, it looked amazing. I had a windfall at the time, so I could afford it, including the matching 22" display. If you take inflation into account, the display, at $3999, cost more than the XDR. I don't recall having overheating issues with the Cube. It got displaced a few years later by a newer, faster model (G5 tower). Still have it (except for the display) and recently got it running again, planning to put an SSD in it. Great for running OS 9-compatible software, and perfectly fine for running Tiger (10.4.11).

I would agree that you should keep it. I thought I was getting a box with my second hand Cube. Turned out it was a box for an Apple II Disk drive. Not quite... If I knew you had a boxed cube when I was putting together my cube video, I would have asked if I could get some shots of it. Also the VGA extension cable was cool to see. I have no regrets buying the cube and no plans to sell it. My only regret is that Broken JPEG beat me to making first comment here.

It would be great if apple gave more for to compensate for the high price

I would NOT sell that, as a person who owns a cube, and a imac g3 and clamshell its not worth it what so ever. Clamshells are common and boring after you get 1 but the cube is neat and you could get ten and it still would be cool
