I've read this book 3x already, and am sure I will read it again. It's so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I cry every time I read about Gabion being adopted and imagine the feeling of helplessness Rill had.

So sad to think about all the poor lil confused kids in families w/out a lot of $$ but not lacking in love & how different their lives were after being adopted. Joan Crawford can't be the only one to adopt children & then horribly abuse them.

I don't think it stopped when Tann and those that helped in High Political and Medical died. I think it continued and I suspect I may have had a twin brother taken in '63 from Baptist Central in Memphis.

I’m currently reading her non fiction book featuring real stories of these children. “ Before and After. Co written with Judy Christie.
Yes, they need to make a movie of this and hopefully soon . I believe the last child sold by Georgia Tann was in the early 50s So time is running out.

I am reading this book now....my heart just bleeds for these children and Families. This woman and all those that were and are involved, may they REPENT! all for the love of MONEY! Judgement day awaits ( Great white throne judgement will be very bitter for these monsters)

Just finished listening to this. Despite this being about a fictional family, I cried. So sad to imagine families being torn apart like this.

Excellent book. It was tough though to read and imagine kids being treated worse than an animal. Although this book is a work of fiction, Georgia Tann was a real person. A real life monster.

Don't forget all those who knew what was happening, but allowed it to continue. Including the staff of the "orphanages" Some of whom were just as evil and abusive.
