Behind the song:
James 1:2-4
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing -
I’ve found suffering/trials/tests to be a crucial part of life. Nothing reveals your true self to you and everyone around you like suffering. You quickly find out what you believe, where you’ve placed your trust, and what or whom you hope in most. Things about us that have potential to go undiscovered are tested and brought to light in order to be refined.
At a time such as this, when the futility of life is no longer a reality we can mask or shrug off, the world desperately needs to see those whose hope is not in earthly things. Those whose foundation remains firm, though the rain falls & the floods come & the winds blow. There is but one foundation that withstands and outlives all struggle & hardship, while promising to uphold you in the midst and His name is Jesus. A life built upon Him ought not hide from the rain, as if to escape something that’s inevitable but rather dance in it, considering it joy. This song was made to make that a little easier.
