TTE pilot with around 100 flights here. Some helpful mods:
-Move the ESC forward and removing the plastic exhaust tubes will help with cooling greatly
-require soldering, but split the ailerons into their own channels for Crow… this airplane lands amazing with Crow
-Switch out the prop for 13x4. Much less current draw and heat but with nice thrust

FYI this airplane can also take a beating in the sky. I’ve pulled 9 G’s on maneuvers frequently with no issues. Great airplane!

Best gift of the year for me. My son has the Night Timber X and wanted the float set for it. The hobby shop didn't have the float set is stock, so he bought the TT Evo so he could have the floats and gave me the plane!! 😲 Aren't kids amazing!! Another great video by the best team on the YouTubes!! Keep up the amazing work (and fun) you both do!!

I've said it before and I'll say it we love your videos keep it up buddy!!! I git into flying a couple years ago now and thanks to you, you've helped me so much along the way everything from watching your setup videos, to listening to your "rc planes 101 for dummies " tutorials, to answering my questions I've sent you in the comments sections. You've been a great help to me making my new hobby less difficult than it has to be, I really appreciate all you and your wife does for us and the hobby!

Thank you for all you do. Even when you are not feeling 100%. You and Megan do way more than review planes to help (ALL) pilots. Your channel is more of an RC Aviation Course. Thank you both.

I tried hitting thrust reverse mid-flight with my RV-7 recently. I must not have had the prop nut on tight enough because it torqued right off along with the spinner. Never found either and Horizon Hobby doesn't sell that prop nut by itself. Only with the motor. So, to anyone reading this, learn from my mistake: Make sure your prop is on there securely if you want to play with thrust reverse in the air!

Guys, this is the Builtin I mentioned about moving the ESC...

Product: E-flite® Turbo Timber Evolution BNF Basic and PNP (EFL105250, EFL105275)

Issue: When flying on hot days (85+˚F/29+˚C), especially when flying aggressively with 4-cell batteries, the ESC can enter Thermal Protection mode (which reduces the maximum power to 60%).
What To Do:
Before running the motor, move the ESC from its original location under the battery tray to the front of the compartment. This change allows for better cooling, and prevents the ESC from entering Thermal Protection mode under the same conditions.
To change the placement of the ESC for improved cooling, follow these steps:
1.Carefully slide the ESC to the front of the compartment below the battery tray.
2.Carefully pull the battery power leads and IC3® connector out from under the tray. Ensure the leads are not under strain or pressure.
3.Check to make sure the motor power leads are not touching the rotating part of the motor. Ensure the leads are not under strain or pressure.
TIP: Use a zip tie, hook and look strap, etc. to carefully bundle the wire leads and secure them away from the motor.
We apologize for this inconvenience.

Thank you Brian and Megan. Your sincerity for the hobby is huge. I have my EVO a year now. 4 fuselages and 2 wing sets later I love it. Learned a lot from you. Now if I could fly as good as you my venture into my new T-28 V2 would be less nerve racking 😳. Thanks again and GB.

One year anniversary of the TTEvo, so perfect timing. I bought mine because of your original video in May 2021 and received it July 21, 2021, my first pre-order experience :) Its an awesome plane, and mine is still in mint condition because its so easy to fly.

I bought this a year ago "Because Brian Phillips Said So And That's The Bottom Line" LOL. It was a winter Flyer and loved it !! Tail dragers are Awesome !! I decided to sell because of issues with flying privilege's being revoked till further notice. This was my relaxation from Heli flying in the winter months. Awesome video once again Mr. Phillips and crew

Just got mine a couple weeks ago and just flew it again this morning! Basically my first RC plane "as an adult" (though I've flown full size C172s and destroyed a couple RC planes as an "in over my head" kid in the 90s. Love it so far - had no problem taking off and landing with no real practice to speak of.

I have set both the throttle cut and the reverse on the same 3 positions button. 0 position is forward, 1 position is throttle cut, 2 position is reverse. I added 1s delay on the throttle cut to make the swich less brutal. This is very intuitive and works like a charm.

Brian. This is no doubt the best of the Timber line up. Yes. I have and had them all. Glad Horizon updated it. I have the V1 of this permanent setup for float flying. It’s still great too when you get past the bottom feed for the lipo. I highly recommend the Turbo Timber Evo. 👍👍😊

This was great . Thanks for the radio tips on how to set up reverse thrust . You do a good job explaining this stuff . I've just started flying my TT EVO and it really is an awesome plane . I felt really confident with it from the first flight so i'd like to practise using reverse thrust on this before trying it on some of the other planes I have that could really use it .
That's me, I;m just getting back into flying after a very long break . I was into mostly helicopters and the collective pitch models had a steep learning curve back then .
The new Spektrum stuff with AS3X and Safe is by far the best, and it's so much easier to set up than it used to be . I've figured out most of what i need to do fairly intuitively ., but I really appreciate the forward programming and downloadable radio and receiver models .

Very Informative Brian. I Am Just Getting Back Into Flying My Old 70mm a-10 After About 4 Years Of Not Flying It. And Yes I Watch All Of Your Vids From Start To Finish. You Put The Comic Back Into The Comedy As Well Thank You.

Great work Brian and Camera Crew Megan! I love your videos :) I ordered a TT Evo, NX8, 4 gen 2 3200 batteries and a S2200 charger after seeing your videos. Looking forward to get her up in the air :)
