Hi…new subscriber here 🇬🇧 I just stumbled across this channel and this video was really interesting. Brief outline of my situation…59 years old, married with two grown up kids and two dogs. I’ve just been made redundant (again) totally unexpected but that’s life in 2023. I’m looking at selling our house which we own and using the money to outright buy a motor home and basically retire early. I am already taking my private pension and we were both working full time and it’s still hard to make ends meet…so this lifestyle really appeals to me. Costs of about £1k ish a month is about half of our current outgoings and with the money from the house should be totally doable. The idea scares my wife but I don’t think I can cope with getting another job at almost 60 years old and keep paying out a fortune every month just to survive. I will get my wife to watch this video and see how she responds…thanks again it was really useful 👍🇬🇧 ps I see this video was 3 years ago…are you still living in the van ?

Interesting 🧐 something to think about for lots of people looking ahead. I’ve dreamt about van life but sadly I don’t drive and don’t think it would be fair to put all the responsibility of driving onto my husband, but who knows how we will feel in the future. Thanks guys 👍

Steve, that's good going on your grocery bill, it works out at £8.75 per day, I don't know how you do it, who are you insured with? I can only get 6 months max European cover with my insurance company
