First Serial Killer in Philippine History?

This is the first-ever recorded serial killer in Philippine history, but you’d be surprised to know that he was actually - a priest. He was Juan Severino Mallari, the Parish Priest of Magalang, Pampanga, from 1816 to 1826. However, during Mallari’s 10 years in Magalang, there were at least 57 mysterious murders. When his crimes were discovered, he confessed that he believed killing people would help cure his mother's sickness, which he thought was caused by a curse. Mallari was eventually arrested and executed in 1840, becoming the first documented Filipino serial killer and the first FIlipino priest executed by the Spaniards. Interestingly, a horror movie is inspired by the TRUE STORY of this mysterious priest in Philippine history.

He is the first recorded "Filipino" serial killer but not a "native" Filipino. Both of his parents were Spanish but he was born in the Philippines making him Filipino. Not that it matters but I just wanna share.

Peninsulares = full spanish, born in spain, living in colony.
Insulares = full spanish, born in colony.
Mestizo = half filipino
Principalia = rich full filipino
Middle class = rich indio during globalization
Indio = poor full filipino, usually but not exclusive to tribesmen.

Juan Severino Mallari = Insulares In Philippines.

He is not a native Filipino. His parents were Spanish but he was born in the Philippines so that makes him a Filipino.

I got a question. Could Mallari's sadistic nature be the reason why he had mental problems? Or is it something else?
