For future viewers. The angle used should not be at the top. The angle used should be at the bottom right. Where the clinometre is. Then the Adjacent and opposite sides are based off of those angles. That is how it has always been taught. So when doing the question, input tan(x)=O/A where x is the angle of elevation.

This is a really nice video of how to do something incorrectly. When calculating the tangent of an angle, the formula should read tan=Opposite/Adjacent. This "tutorial" has it reversed. Why has it not been corrected or removed yet?!?

but you taken it as l/h.
how come that possible ?please clarify.

Tan formula is like tan = Perpendicular/ Base .
In this case it should then : tan(angle) = x / distance

formula should be tan x = h/L which is to say that tan = opposite over adjacent.
