Do the Xenosaga games have sidequests? like for example in your recent FFXVI walkthrough is just the main quests, no sidequests like Jills or Torgal, and overall that does diminish the game somewhat, are the Xenosaga games the same or are they more linear and have no meaty story in the sidequests?

Man, the antagonist of this game is basically just an edgy teenager who just discovered Friedrich Nietzsche and listens to Linkin Park while brooding on how cool nihilism is. If he wasn't designed like a typical anime antagonist of the early 2000s and was therefore incapable of growing facial hair, he'd be twirling a mustache.

Meanwhile Kos Mos is just a blatant Deus Ex Machina who's powers aren't explained so she can basically do whatever the plot, such as it is, demands of her.

Theres no real chain of events, and the protagonist characters, especially Shion have almost no effect on the events of the story itself. It's a lot of technobabble, jargon, and general vagueness, combined with stuff thats supposed to sound profound, with nothing beneath it.

None of the characters really have any sort of story arc. None of them feel like complete people with motivation or goals, they're basically just going through the motions as things happen around them. And chaos literally doesn't have a character...or a reason to even be there, he kinda just...shows up, and we learn literally nothing about him. He looks like he could have just been dropped in from a different game entirely.

It feels like someone took a fan fic and made a game about it.
