You neglected some very important aircraft, including the Fw-190, DeHavilland Mosquito, P38 Lightning, B29 Superfortess, and the Nakajima Ki-84. I’d love to see an updated version which included these important aircraft!

The most impressive part is the filmographer was able to gather all these pilots and vintage planes together to pull off the speed tests and film it.

The sudden leap in speed when jet fighters came along is amazing, it was surely terrifying for the flight crews of the time too.

Nice comparison, however, its important to note that none of these planes could reach those speeds at sea level these vmax speeds were measured at high altitude in thin air. Also many of these planes had variations over the years with very different performance. Cruise speeds would also be interesting, because as far as i know the B-17s generally flow at 300-350 km/h in formations (instead of the theoretical vmax)

3:56 The Yak 3 had an open rear hemisphere in the cockpit, but here it is closed, like the Yak 1 or 7
