If you are stricktly in engineer mode than this system is quite manageable. If you are producing and engineering, the demands on the brain would take you out of the creative aspect of the production as you manage signal flow and routing options. Although there are benefits to near zero latency monitoring I see the most benefit during complex mixes. Any time you introduce a submixer into the DAW you add a layer of management that may not be welcomed during more creative moments.

I love Waves plugins. However, this is so confusing. It seems like there are some many steps to this that I'd rather no go though.

AAX DSP maybe? This seems nice, but why would I invest into more gear just to get DSP functionality for plugins I already own?

Hey WAVES... How about an Artist friendly Setting for quick setup and recording.

E deixar eu ri falar eu posso usar os plugins no reaper ou samplitude

Hi could I do this with a DiGiGrid D and a SoundGrid Mobile Server and get the same latency?

What latency would be "virtually no latency"? 2ms?

querido wave, ya que vendes tan caro todo esto en latino america por lo menos subi los videos en latino, sino llevate todo a otra parte o baja el precio.

This is a big step backwards for those of us already operating in an HD Pro Tools environment.

If someone made an external DSP box that was fanless (quiet) that could run all my VST and AU plugins that I already own, I would jump on it. Waves plugins are only a few of my plugins right now, so it's not worth it to me to buy hardware where I would have to replace most of my plugins that I like and am familiar with.

People are stupid. It's great system but not for everyone. Only if you work in a big studio with a lot of musicans recording at the same time

i believe now its a great technoligie, but has to go out from the creator mind’s inna easier way into the client head. Might have a way to put all the possibilities on the table less aleatoric than would help waves to sell more, everybody would be very happy! i would love to know alll the possibilities of this amazing technology for example to some normal one that doesnt have waves I/O but bought impact server for now its not clear about rec live with plugins in my case! even after asking waves tech support! my opinion only!!

Yes, this is so utterly confusing! UAD2 has a PCIe card that leaves everything inside the DAW. Waves, like Avid HDX adds this ridiculous hardware must-buy into its commercial chain when, in fact, all of these companies could have a Graphics Card (GPU) (Nvidia or AMD) handle everything; or a series of GPUs, like the Tesla units. Supercomputers are built around GPUs! Why are Avid, UAD, and Waves not embracing this technology to work within the DAW??? This additional mixer in the Soundgrid system just adds another level of unnecessary complication! At least Avid and UAD do it with PCIe cards that work within the DAW! But again, all three companies could very well and very easily map their plug-ins to 3rd party GPUs. But no! They need to rip off the consumer with their vertically integrated, walled-garden hardware. And add a seriously mind-fucking amount of confusion to their capitalist rip-off scheme in the process! Here's to hoping the geniuses at Presonus get this message and by-pass these capitalist rip-off pigs before 2020! All plug-ins must be mapped to one or more GPUs now that we have Thunderbolt-3 USB C-3.1! Make it easier, assholes; not more expensive!!!

Why not invest the money in a high spec computer for your DAW instead. This would be far less complicated and you are not limited to Waves plugins. I high spec computer would solve most users latency issues.

RME's MADI interface mixer is even worse and more complex...

I Love Protools because it is Simple to use. I just want a MADI devise that is Simple to Connect my BURL Mothership to Protools with a Simple interface. Thanks.
