“Reimagining the National Library” redevelopment plan

An update from Director of the NLI, Dr Sandra Collins on our “Re-imagining the National Library” redevelopment plan, made possible by funding from the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.

The major building redevelopment programme is already underway, and it will ensure high quality, safe storage for the national collections, as well as universally accessible public spaces – exhibition galleries, a new lecture theatre, café and shop, and a public lift to all floors – in our main library building on Kildare Street.
