*I didn't become financially independent until I was in my late 40's, and I'm still in my 40's. In addition to having purchased my second home and earning money on a monthly basis through passive income, I've also achieved three out of five goals. I just hope this inspires someone to realize that it doesn't matter if you don't have any of these things yet, you can start today no matter your age. Change your future by investing! I made a rather big decision by investing in the financial market.*

I'm aiming to retire at 60 with rental properties, maybe a business in real estate, dividends from ETFs, and a retirement pension.

Yes, my financial advisor talked to me when I retired at 55 which was 4 years ago. However, I did do it.

Nope...didn't know this. I know about withdrawing from an IRA early without penalty as long as you are not withdrawing profit.

@Smart Money Bro: I have heard of the rule but did not really understand how it worked. Thanks for the education.

I have never heard of this rule before. I have not lived here all my life... just twelve (12) years so I have not done my due diligence. However my husband and I have worked 10 years each with our respective companies.

I haven't heard of Rule 55. This is very informative. What if you have a SDIRA does the Rule of 55 applies or I have to wait until I'm 59 and a half to pull money from my SDIRA?

Question: If I rolled over money from my previous employer's 401k into my new employer's 401k can the rule 55 be applied to the entire account including the rollover?

What if it’s a Roth 401(k)? Offered by my employer?

Yes I heard of it just 2 years ago. That's my plan to retire at 55-56 yrs. Of age. How about a 401a or a roth is that part of the 55 plan? Is 15 percent of my pay good enough towards retirement? I have about 8 to 9 years until I hit that age.

I have not heard of the Rule of 55 or 72(t)

Retire? Why? That's a shortcut to death.
