Every single retraining job I had ( except one who refused to have the horses best interest at heart ) in 50 years included retraining the owner/rider. It’s simply where the rubber meets the road. Horses don’t get messed up on their own.

I understand that question. It comes from kids. They go to grandma's or auntie's house, and for some reason everything you struggle with is completely resolved at granny's or auntie's. They don't pick their nose or slam the door. The hand towel isn't on the floor soaking wet, and they don't tell grandma the same breakfast you prepare for them, which is now served from grandma's table is yuk. You pick them up and take them home and the hellion from Helliun arises from their very toes.

Fortunately, you know enough to know the owner needs as much training (hopefully possessing a better attitude) as the horse.

I hope we get to see you work a few horses with snow in the background for a historical record of such an unusual storm! Here in Wisconsin, the cold (-10 to -20 F) has been with us for the last few days.

Fortunately, I've never asked that question ... but I have thought about it. The owners care a lot about their horses to send them to you for training, but most (I'm guessing) won't have your, Robert's or Raven's riding skills. Maybe a better question is for the owners of what their plans are to continue the training as much as their time and skills allow.

Can’t believe you have snow. Welcome to my world😊

You need to create a course for not just the horse, but for horse and rider/owner. I have seen not just one, but many owners of not just horses, but also dogs, owner just completely thinking, for instance, an animal can be treated and trained like a human.

No.. The point is that often the owner needs some instruction. That's the point of the question.

That’s a good question… _why_ wash the dishes? Aren’t they just going to get dirty again?

(you had to know that one was coming) 😜

Haven't ridden in a week because temps have been in the teens. I just can't function in those temperatures. I hate NY!

On a different subject: How did you like the snow?

My 20yo horse seems easily spooked and high strung. Can that be undone at his age?
