Love these long videos. I like to sit out in the shop early in the morning enjoy a cup of coffee and a cig while watching your videos before I head off to work.

Your Palmgren vise with the damage looks just like mine. Mine must have lived in a shop class at one time. Great video. Keep them coming. Thank's.

Thanks Mr. Pete. The "Doh" with the depth stop was priceless coming from the master wizard. Even Grand Masters have a faux pa once in a while! ~¿@ Enjoying the series and the side bars. ~PJ

I'd like to see a video of you making that spring loaded tap guide if you ever run out of ideas, but then I'd watch you make peanut butter and banana sandwiches.

Lyle. as ever enjoying this series so much along with younger generations of my "tribe" I too use web cams etc to project my work on a big screen for more detailed vision not only on my machines but also for some hand work, filing drilling sometimes using watchmakers tools etc. sadly no space for full size tools just big boys toys here. Compliments of the season to you and Trapper

Funny, I'm from New Orleans and when you said too loose, I thought exactly the same. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Taping operation - I used to have an issue with starting the tap straight/vertical and not do a good job. I have since gone to a spring loaded tap guide held in a drill press (as I don't have a mill). I cannot lock the quill (correct term?) on my drill press so I raise the table as needed. Works well.

Mr. Pete,

If your tap guide is like mine you can back out the screw that tensions the spring and flip the pin around. The other end of the pin might have a point.

Thanks for your videos,
David

Theres usually a point on the other end of those tap followers (pull spring and flip the shaft)...love these vids!

Mr. Pete. You must have been a pistol when in your prime. However, with age comes wisdom and you have lots of that. Thank you.
