She isn't wrong . Everyone who had a significant weight loss has noticed the difference in their treatment by people 😊

Why not teach people to treat others with respect, regardless of their body size

For me after losing 120 pounds i believe its more of my mood/confidence that makes a difference on how people have treated me.

It’s the absolute truth. Been there - on both sides. Even from my own family. When I lost weight they treated me better - even to the degree of jealousy. But when the weight comes back I’m mocked and looked down upon. Yet I’m the same exact person. It really is an amazing thing to witness

I was nearly 400 lb and I am now only 2:40. I know I have a lot more to go but I've come a long way. I'm going to be honest with you. I don't feel like people treat me any different. I feel like people who know me are shocked when they haven't seen me in a while because my body keeps changing, but I don't feel like strangers treat me any different. Sometimes when we're going through something we tend to project and we don't realize we're projecting it's who you are that people are reacting to, not what you look like

I

weighed 240, and now I weigh 195. My lowest was 170, and I was treated differently

I remember when i was in junior high i was about 40 lbs overweight and my sisters were thin Noone would give me the time of day and then when i lost it i got lots of attention but it still hurts i remembering a male friend of one of my sisters commented of how he felt bad for being so shallow people just don't realize how it hurts but as wrong as it is that is the way that society is and also i hated it when people would come up to me and say you really need to lose some weight and then when i did lose it they never even commented on my weight loss people we already know we are overweight we dont need to be reminding of it

This is so sad but it’s true. I’ve gained weight due to PCOS, hypothyroidism and a few stress fractures on my left foot and I can clearly see that I’m not being taken seriously, I’m referred to as big and someone who ate a lot and now looks like this even by my own sister. It’s such sad truth that a slimmer body brings you more respect and people will pay more attention to to you 😢

Oprah continues to obsess about weight.

The reality is that people see fat people as being lazy and not disciplined.
I don’t know why everyone Is so shocked by different treatment. A mother who takes pride in herself is likely more disciplined, motivated and a better role model to her children.

I've lost almost 50 pounds and I'm still being treated the same.

I’ve been lucky to have not dealt with a weight problem throughout my life but my sister struggled and I’ll never forget when we went into this high end store and how everyone there offered me help and not her. It made her so uncomfortable she had to leave and so I scolded every single worker in there and left. I’m sorry to all the people who are reading this and felt discriminated and mistreated for your size. The respect you’re given should never be dependent on how much weight you’re carrying.

So sad that we judge on looks and not deeds.

First of all: my perception of myself and the world surrounding me changes if I fit into my mindset of “being the right size”. So it doesn’t mean that the world is actually more accepting of me, when I’m thinner, it just mirrors your own mindset of yourself.
Second of all: the pressure of fitting into s.th that is perception of an outside world, doesn’t disappear, it will only shift to another area.
Third: how to cope with pressure, or how to negate the arising of pressure, should be your goal to completely free yourself.
Fourth: be your own best friend, when you look into the mirror see your beauty. Surround yourself with people who see your souls beauty and are beautiful souls themselves. Work on self acceptance and self love.
The weight is only a symptom which will not erase if you don’t find the actual source/ reason for the symptom to arise.

Says a whole lot (negative) about many of the people in our society if a human has to change how they look to be treated like a human.

Not true I have experienced it myself in reverse as I have gained weight now and I am treated totally different from how I was treated when I was thin.
