7 Days With The OnePlus 8T - It's All CHANGE!

This video is my official unboxing and first impressions review after 1 week of the OnePlud 8T! I look at the metal, and gorilla glass 5 build quality, FHD+ Fluid Amoled 120hz refresh rate display, 4500 mAh battery, 65W Warp charging, quad rear camera, with 48 MP primary, 16MP Ultra-Wide, 5MP Macro and 2MP Monochrome sensor. Wireless and reverse wireless charging as well as an IP68 water and dust resistant rating are not here, but stereo speakers, and up to 12GB ram are! It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip, and with the latest Android 11 with Oxygen OS 11 skin over the top! Is this phone premium or mid-range, and for £549 should you buy it?

One thing I'll never understand is why other Android phone makers don't have an alert slider. I didn't know it would be a big deal till I got my OnePlus and now I'm not sure I'd want a phone without it

Phones like this make it harder and harder to justify staying with Apple.

I like the apple ecosystem but perhaps not enough to stay.

Major reason for choosing Oneplus was it's software, close to Stock Android.
Hope they stay "As stock as possible" Cheers 🥂

Been using my OnePlus 5 since 2017 and this is a very tempting upgrade. I don't think I'll stray away from OnePlus anytime soon, most sturdy phone I've ever had for sure

One Plus for me was mostly about getting as close to stock android as possible. In a world where so many devices failed to deliver a clean OS experience One Plus was a breath of fresh air and so i became a huge fan. To hear they are moving away from that is sad. To hear a few people say its starting to feel more like Samsung OS is very concerning. Its an odd year - because the Pixel 5 is still not worth an upgrade from my 7pro and as of yet One Plus haven't offered anything that seems worth moving from either.

I have pre-ordered this phone yesterday and I can’t wait for it to arrive. First time changing from iOS and Apple to Android. I have had Iphones since the iPhone 3g and now I own an iPhone 8 plus. Oneplus impressed me with their phones, I hope I won’t be disappointed.

"if you have a OP 6 or OP 6T It's definetly worth the upgrade"
My dad with OP 2 : Its still working just fine"

So, I was awaiting this release but I bought a oneplus 8 a few weeks back at a discounted cost from Amazon. I was using the 7T which I really loved. Went for the 8 as it offered double the storage and more ram. Plus there's the 5G. Not disappointed, as it is also lighter than the 7T. Really fluid to use.

Yeaah, for me I love the idea of OnePlus kinda moving away from stock android... just for me, so that OnePlus could show what design could they give toward their personalized apps such for future messaging, browsers, etc

Sir I think you just convinced me to upgrade to the OP8T from 2 years of using my 6T. Though I was contemplating to do so because it doesn't pack the IMX689 sensor from the 8 Pro, but an upgrade is an upgrade nonetheless.

You all are probably familiar with setting yourself up for buyer's remorse by aquiring a device, using it for a bit then watching reviews for it along with its competition.
I did exactly this and after using it for a few months can honestly say I have zero regrets.

I've had the 8t for a month or so now. Came from the OnePlus 6. The software is better. Looks and functionality of the OS has been improved. I miss the shelf on swipe right, but you can still get this as a swipw down option.

One thing that I miss on the hardware is the notification light. Wish they would add this as a ring around the camera hole punch. Hopefully will be added in a future update.

The reason I bought the 8T is the Dual Sim feature. I have a work phone and a personal phone and I didn't like having two phones with me all the time. So far I'm happy with it, I have an ATT sim and a T-mobile sim card, no issues. Coming from a Note 9 and S9+

It's the main reason i bought a OP device, the almost stock experience with a few tweaks. I'll definitely not update to Oxygen OS 11, it's a far cry from what OnePlus stood for in terms of quality and overall feel of their stock android, so it's a big NOPE. ( for me Oxygen OS 11 brings nothing intreresting nor useful, i don't mind a better experience instead of optimised one hand usage and AOD's... Overall android 11 is lackluster in terms of actual features so wtf Google... ) Since the 7T is scheduled to get Oxygen OS 12 in 2021/2022, i'd rather wait and watch what android 12 has to offer.

Feel sorry for UK. We are coming out of lockdown here in Australia and they're about to go into a long long winter lockdown with curfews.

Great review! Just purchased the US Tmo variant (with IP rating) for $749. Well done!
