Diesel Exhaust fluid composition includes Urea and deionised water. It is also called as Adblue. It is filled usually when warning light comes. Diesel Exhaust Fluid quality depends on the brand and company. Tata Motors has its own branded Adblue which it sells for BS6 Cars. DEF price is more or less around Rs.400-500 per litre, requiring a refill every 5000-7000 kms. DEF or Adblue explained in few words would be like a liquid which reduces pollution to meet BS6 norms. It is used in all BS6 cars. Adblue is also used in trucks and heavy vehicles. Tata Safari Ownership comes with these responsibilities to periodically refill DEF.

Tata Safari, Tata Harrier and other brands BS6 diesel cars like MG Hector, Jeep Compass etc use Adblue/DEF. Diesel Exhaust fluid is also used in cars like Scorpio, Thar, Creta etc wherever Diesel engine is used to meet BS6 emission norms for controlling pollution level. Adblue reduces emissions by 60-70% which is a significant contribution towards environment which most automobile companies are implementing to meet government norms. Euro 6 norms is another name to Bharat Standard 6 norms outside of India.

Selective catalyst reduction (SCR) in conjunction with DEF/Adblue works by taking exhaust pollutants through a filter and through a nozzle where DEF/Urea is sprayed on the pollutants to convert nitrogen oxide and monoxide to Nitrogen and water and reduce pollutions. This SCR technology used in most BS6 vehicles like New Tata Safari 2021.

Sir there is no need to change ECU in case of DEF empty. Once DEF tank is empty ecu will sense it and put your car on safe mode. Once car goes in safe mode your car won't start or in other case it will start but will not go at high speed so you can reach your nearest service center. Once you reach there you need to refill your tank and need to perform a thing call DEF regeneration through a OBD scanner. This feature is available in every good scanner available in market

Sir kya DEF sabhi BS6 Diesel gadiyon mein zaruri hota hai aur kitna expense aata hai? Aur ek baat aur poochhnj hai ki mujhe 5 seater car leni hai toh aapke hisab se XUV700 aur Harrier mein se kaun si achchhi rahegi. Waise meri choice Harrier hai par main next generation harrier ka wait kar raha hun. Main apni life ki first gadi kharidunga toh soch samajh ke lena chahta hun.

Hyundai/Kia ke 1.5 CRDi diesel engines ko Adblue ki requirement nahi hai, sirf Tata safari/harrier aur mahindra me hai

Hi sir, I love your videos. I have a question regarding the automatic transmission. Is it true that even if you drive it in manual mode, the transmission will automatically UP-SHIFT after 6000 RPM. I know automatic cars do automatically DOWN-SHIFT even in manual mode to prevent stalling, but is it true for the UP-SHIFTS also? Does it not hold the high revs. for as long as we want? Maine DeF ka can apni Safari mein rakh liya ... But it spilled on the floor. Abhi main 5000 kharch karke poora car floor niklwa kar clean kar chuka hoon, but smell abhi bhi naho ja rahi hai. Especially when the car windows are closed. Iska koi solution bata fo bhai. Aapke channel ko 50 logon se like share susbcribe karwa doonga. 😊😢

DEF fuel capacity should have been more in tata suv's. Its a pain to keep on tracking DEF levels.
