that last one is what we use to stamp library book due dates. it has four separate design "belts" to change the date, month, and year.

Ok the self-inking ones are really simple though and far from overengineered. I'm pretty sure that they're the most common stamps in most office settings, just because they're very convenient and efficient.

The Rotating Stamps have been a thing for a good 30 years now. My Grandfather used them daily in his home office. He even had several of those wheeled ones, so that he could stamp the full date on the page, then sign it.

The self inking rotating one is ancient, I have a canadian one that is over 25 years old and still works

There’s nothing unique about the self inking. They ALL do that and have for DECADES

...did you really try to sell a self inking date stamp (available for less than $20 at any office supply store) as an over engineered piece of equipment?

The self inking stamp was pretty common though? At least on the 2000s

The self inking part is OLD
They are used at my dads work, and they use windows 9

I don’t think ive ever seen a stamp that didn’t self-ink. Because 90% of stamps are made to display the current date, and the rest need to be used really often, and if you’re making a moveable 1 dimensional type the self inking mechanism is just half a step to the left, and if you’re making a stamp that is to be used 78 times per minute, self-inking just makes sense.
